That means You You & You .. The January Thaw is at half mast, back from a night iPoding yea i know vinyl is much hipper/ better even [See the Vinyl Rules post] but after 25+ years of playing music for people, and being the Over Prepared Dj" for decades me old back will only let me do one of two things stand and play music for people all night or carry 5 bags of records not both se la vee, life is too short to get hung much especially up on the appearances of things and doing the shallow dance of seeking the hipness factor is for the young heck enjoy what little pleasures life offers you cause in a heartbeat their gone forever and I'm not just talking bout the big change,(from this body to the next) nope in the snap of twig your whole universe can rearrange in any direction.
Like this a year ago i was just starting this mushagas up didn't really have a plan but after diggin' so much on Sharpeworld The Cartoonist Metafilter, Coudal gmtPlus9 and others over in the Daily Clicks column put the thought in my head to do something anything but what?? not having any real web skills, couldn't dazzle with flash stuff and really did the net need another Political/Opinion/My life is so Happy|Sad site thought not so i pondered for a second....
Taking the lead from Basic Hip and others... Music & specifically vinyl records have been my a big part of my life since i was 7 when the folks let me pick out some records on my own at the department store type place that was close to our house, Picked up Beatles 65, Dave Clark Five Glad All Over and a Chad & Jeremy LP all of which i still had until the great vinyl purge of 1989 they were in unplayable shape man those early Phonographs for kids shredded vinyl, not that sentimental about records anymore if they don't play and the covers are beat to shite. I'll keep this brief so you can get to the tunes

Now for the tuneage here's a special Anniversary MIx from (In the words of One of our Hero's Mr Jimmy Castor Were Gonna Go Back (How far Back) Waaaaay Back Back into time... so many years ago I fell in Love with the Black Action Movies ( as if you couldn't tell from the last several posts) anyway by 1988 or so i had amassed a sweet stack of soundtracks and had begun to use them when Djing and making Tapes and then like Louie Pastori (rumored to be the guy who invented the pause button) Before me a light went off and i did a mix of just those tracks and over the years it's grown into a multi hour extravaganza of Black Action Cinema Scores and Themes
Once in the late 80's Early 90's i actually tried to get it put out and went to a Major Label with the idea and song list and they told me they were working on one themselves i was a bit miffed but not totally as the person who told me this was a friend (yes they do exists in the Music Business) anyway when it was released i really didn't feel that bad as it was all the most obvious stuff very few of them were on my list and it only had if i remember correctly like 14 or 18 tracks total on it so good on them and now good on you!
